Do NOT fly close to airports

There are a number of rules and guidelines that you must follow before you are allowed to fly a drone. Among other things, it is illegal to fly a drone closer than 5 km from TORP Sandefjord Airport or other airports, unless you have permission from LTT (Air Traffic Service). See the drone map for airports.

Make yourself familiar withe the rules of flying drones

You are required to take the drone license and have liability insurance for drone flying. It is not allowed to fly over crowds and you must always keep the drone within visual range. These are just some of the rules you must follow. The Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority gives you a full overview of the rules for drone use in Norway.

Get your drone license and register drone flights

To fly a drone in Norway, you must register at flydrone.no and take the necessary courses and exams. You are also encouraged to register all flights in Ninox Drone (App Store and Google Play). Ninox Drone is an app developed to manage drones in a safe and efficient way. Through this system, you also apply for permission to fly near airports.

NB: Avidrone postponed until further notice

Avidrone, which was planned to replace Ninox Drone from 8 December, has now been put on hold due to technical issues that need to be resolved before further use. The app has therefore been taken down until this is clarified. Ninox Drone will continue for the time being, and drone operators can still use Ninox to apply for permission to fly within the restricted zone as usual.
